Testing is performed in a sound enclosure via earphones to determine one's hearing acuity and ability to hear and understand speech. If impairment is present the degree and type of impairment is determined. Conductive hearing loss may be completely or partially corrected with medical and/or surgical intervention. Senorineural impairments are usually permanent and irreversible.
Patients of all ages can be evaluated at Hearing Health Associates.

If you are determined to be a hearing aid candidate our audiologists will recommend the most suitable device for your hearing loss. Your lifestyle, hobbies, work environments, manual dexterity and ear anatomy are some of the factors that are also taken into consideration when making an appropriate recommendation.
In-office hearing aid demonstrations are available. All hearing aids are fit with a 30-day trial.
We also repair and service all makes of hearing aids.
Tympanometry
Tympanometry is an objective assessment of middle ear function. Certain results may indicate the presence of an eardrum perforation, fluid in the middle ear fluid or Eustachian tube dysfunction.
Otoacoustic Emission Measures (OAE)
Distortion-product OAE is a measure of cochlear outer hair cell function. This is a valuable clinical tool for infant hearing screening but can also be used to differentiate sensory and neural dysfunction.
Visual Speech Mapping (VSM)
Visual Speech Mapping (VSM) is available at Hearing Health Associates for objective verification of hearing aid fittings. This technology allows for the precise fine-tuning of hearing aid parameters to fit the individual needs of each patient.
